GrieveWell-Online Workshops

Exploring our grief through movement with Dominique

Moving to music can be a powerful way of communicating with all parts of our complex selves. It allows us to release tension and anxiety and offers a way to integrate the complex connections within our minds, bodies, and emotions. It can also help us to move emotional energy that can sometimes become blocked, harming us. Multiple accepted therapeutic practices are based on this premise and offer a significant degree of physical and emotional healing.

Exploring our grief through music with Mel Clark

Mel Clark (they/them) is a board certified Music Therapist and owner/operator of Backwoods Music Therapy in Ann Arbor, MI. Mel has years of experience in hospice and bereavement care and has designed and led several Music Therapy based grief support groups. Mel has a passion for utilizing music as a guide through grief and loss of all kinds. Music can be a powerful tool for healing and expression when words aren’t enough. Mel will provide a space to connect and explore grief through music.

This one hour workshop will include live (virtual) music performances by Mel, song sharing and discussion, and guided group songwriting.

No musical experience or talent required, only a love for music!

Grief Centered Hatha Yoga with Lena

A yoga practice helps us to calm the nervous system, relieve physical and emotional stress, and connect to ourselves, body and mind. Together, we’ll practice moving and breathing with presence from a foundation of compassion. A yoga practice teaches us how to move with grace through hardship and struggle, and gives us tools to begin to ground, settle, and find a sense of peace within our own bodies. No prior yoga experience necessary. Make sure you have a mat or carpeted area, water bottle, and a couple of blankets nearby you during the workshop.
