A story on FB that may help those who need shelter

 Backstory:

My wife noticed a homeless person at a local library on several occasions living out of a suitcase. Concerned for his well-being, she contacted Halton Region's Street Outreach Team at outreach@halton.ca. Advising of her observations, they replied they would send out a team to connect with the individual. They further stated:
Through our Street Outreach Team, individuals can access shelter and housing services, including accessible accommodations, as well as other supportive services such as assistance in securing more permanent, affordable housing options. In some cases, individuals do not wish to access emergency shelter services. When this occurs, the Street Outreach Team checks in regularly and provides mental health supports, housing-related case management services and other necessary service connections. Staff encourage these individuals to access emergency shelter supports, which always remain available to them.
I was not aware we had such resources in this great city and I thought this was a worthwhile story to share with everyone. If you see someone you believe could benefit from this resource, please do not hesitate to reach out. Everyone can use some help, some more than others.

**this is copied off of a post found on FB here in Burlington.  Just thought I would share in case you know someone who needs this support
