According to an Ipsos Reid poll for Global News, as of February 2021, almost half of all people aged 55 and better feel lonely. Of course, loneliness affects people of all ages. Often overlooked, loneliness is a health risk that can lead to depression, poor sleep and eating habits and can damage cardiovascular and immune systems.
We support people living with stroke, dementia, mental health challenges, bereavement, autism, developmental disability, social isolation, depression, anxiety, physical disability, behavioural issues—or anyone who simply wants to make a positive change.
Wellness Link’s remote therapeutic recreation services provide meaningful social engagement while your loved one remains safe at home. Our employees are all skilled Recreation Therapists providing virtual therapeutic recreation via phone or online to enhance social connection and boost quality of life.

Our Health and Wellness Program offers social recreation opportunities including a variety of leisure activities for consumers of mental health services. We provide a safe space with programs that are led by a team of dedicated staff, peers, and volunteers, many of whom are peers themselves.
Our Health & Wellness Program provides participants with opportunities to participate in community life, to make friendships, and for recovery through peer facilitated groups. Some examples of other groups we offer include: arts and crafts, cooking, writing, journaling, yoga, open mic night, walking group, youth drop-in, book club, and early risers mindfulness.

Sauga connections for older adults
You’re invited to join us for various activities through your computer, tablet, or phone. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun and connect with familiar friends or make new ones. Each activity and fitness class is offered weekly (see the list below).
Our events are free, and we will never ask you for your credit card information. If you are asked to provide a credit card, it is not a legitimate City of Mississauga event.

Disability Benefits
Financial support to people with disabilities, who are between 18 and 64 years old.
If you qualify for payments, you will begin receiving payments the month after your application is received and approved. You may receive back payments for up to 24 months from when we get your application, but not for any previous months of eligibility prior to June 2025.
Your first payment will be on the third Thursday of the month following your approval and will include back payments if applicable.

Expanded Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction 11-week program for beginners looking to deep dive into mindfulness practices.
1. Please request your family doctor or your medical specialist (must be an MD) to fax a referral to 905 338 2717. No special referral format is necessary.
2. Upon referral review and approval by Dr. Treyvaud, his secretary will contact you to book an OHIP-covered, online assessment appointment. Waiting time for this appointment varies between a few weeks to 2-3 months.
4. After the assessment has been completed, you will receive feedback from Dr. Treyvaud and if suitable, you will be signed up for the next available MBSRX program, which is covered by OHIP. If not suitable, he will discuss other options with you.
5. To be on the list and to sign up for the program, you will be required to have met Dr. Treyvaud for the individual assessment first.

How Do I Know When I'm Ready To Get To Work With Dr. Alexander?
Here are a few indications that you are ready to work with Dr. Alexander. You:
- are ready to learn how to live with more ease in the world;
- are ready to work towards real change in your life;
- are curious about integrative mind-body modalities and techniques to treat your health issue;
- have a complex/chronic mental or physical condition;
- are willing to participate in group learning environment;
- have a Family Doctor or Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who can coordinate your care, respond to crises and refer you for our services;
- live in Ontario and have a valid OHIP card;
- are able to commit to a weekly group either online while in Ontario, or in-person in Oakville, Ontario, for the duration of your program; and,
- are able and willing to commit to our group guidelines.

Fees
Please note that OHIP covers Dr. Alexander's group courses, when you attend your appointments. OHIP does not pay Dr. Alexander if you do not attend your booked sessions. Since we cannot replace a participant once a group has started, the participant must pay for any missed sessions - like any other medical appointment.
As such, a fully-refundable deposit is required to secure your space in a group and to pay for any missed sessions during the duration of your group course. Please see the group guidelines in your intake form for more details on the charges for missed sessions.

OSP offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults 18+ living in Ontario with depression, anxiety, and anxiety-related concerns, including:
