DBT

 

Take time today and each day, to practice Opposite Action if your emotion urge doesn't fit the facts or it's not effective.




Perhaps do something nice for someone you feel frustrated with, or gently avoid them if that's more effective.

 

Maybe it's time to get outside for a breath of fresh air if you've been inside.

 

If you have found yourself overly self-critical, maybe try some self-compassion.




Sometimes the emotions fit the facts and we can change our emotions by actually solving the problem that has created the feelings in the first place.







If you are afraid of doing the thing you need to do perfectly, or fearful of getting started, consider that you will learn along the way.

Avoid Avoiding and Get Going!






Remember, only work on changing your emotions if you want to feel differently.
