Equilibrium Oakville - Dec 9th - 7 pm. - Support House - Mobile Health Team and Support Housing-Free

Peer support for those affected by mental health conditions and their friends and families.

Join us for an informative session with Support House as they as they share an overview of the primary care services and social supports they provide to people in the Halton region. The mobile health team offers low-barrier health care to people who are not currently connected to care. Collectively the Team provides assertive outreach, builds supportive relationships, identifies individual’s unmet needs, supports their expressed wishes, builds circle of supports, navigates housing needs, and works from a harm reduction and trauma informed lens.

Attending a meeting

People are welcomed on arrival by a core group member, who provides them with literature. The meeting lasts from an hour to an hour and a half and is usually attended by 25-35 people.

 

Confidentiality

The importance of confidentiality is emphasised at the beginning of every meeting. People attending an Equilibrium meeting for the first time generally sit back and listen. However, they are invited to share their thoughts if they wish.

 

Cost

There is no cost to attend meetings or borrow books/videos.

Operating costs are covered by donations at meetings.
