International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will be observed in Canada on November 25, 2025. This date also marks the start of the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence - which campaigns globally and within Canada to raise awareness and encourage action to end gender-based violence.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that runs from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day) to challenge and end violence against women and girls. Started in 1991 by the Women's Global Leadership Institute, the campaign highlights that gender-based violence is a pervasive human rights violation and aims to revitalize commitments to achieve gender equality.
