      Your Intuition-Hertz Health

Your intuition: the healer yet met.

Have you ever felt a strong gut feeling about something, only to later realize it was right? That's your intuition at work, a powerful inner compass that can guide you towards healing your body.

Using my Intuition to Save My Life
I used to ignore my intuition when it came to my health. I'd push through pain, dismiss symptoms, and believe that doctors knew best. It wasn't until I started listening to my body's whispers that I began to truly heal. I realized that my intuition was trying to tell me something was wrong, and when I finally paid attention, I was able to make the necessary changes to improve my health. Trusting my internal whispers is what ultimately led me to making the life changing decisions that allowed my body to heal itself.

Just recently I was reminded of this very important message to trust your intuition when myself, my boyfriends mom and dog were out on an evening stroll. As we were crossing the street there was an oncoming vehicle turning into the very street that we were crossing. We assumed he’d slow down or stop to let us cross but the thing is… I knew that driver wasn’t going to stop with every ounce of my being. Within two feet of the driver striking us with the vehicle I push my boyfriends mom across the road and I kick off my shoes to sprint in the other direction meanwhile we almost lost the dog under the vehicle.

It was an elderly man, he didn’t see us at all. In fact he wouldn’t have stopped if we didn’t bang on his car to stop the vehicle so we could rescue our dog. Long story short, I’m very used to letting my intuition guide me, so deciding to take action in a fraction of a second is something I’m strong at doing, and you should be too.

      The Science Behind Intuition

While intuition may seem like a mystical concept, there's actually scientific evidence to support its role in healing. Studies have shown that our bodies can send us subconscious signals when something is amiss. When we tune into these signals and take action, we can accelerate our healing process.

Tools to Tap into Your Intuition

Here are a few tools I prescribe to strengthen your intuition and connect with your body.

      • Stillness: Regular quiet time can help quiet your mind and improve your ability to listen to your inner voice.

      • Journaling: Writing down your thoughts and feelings can help you identify patterns and gain clarity.

      • Nature Walks: Spending time in nature can help you connect with your body and intuition.

      • Visualization: Creating mental images of yourself in a state of health can help you manifest healing.

Remember, your intuition is a valuable resource that can guide you towards a healthier and happier life. By listening to your inner voice, you can unlock your body's innate healing abilities. You may not hear it at first, but as you begin to trust yourself and practice the above you will begin to develop your own intuitive muscle too.

Wishing you all a beautiful fall season and my next live event is in the planning process now. Looking forward to sharing it with you all.

      Clear Negative Energy-Karma Gaia

      Clear Negative Energy

      Modulate your news intake.

Begin by limiting your exposure to upsetting news. Just like food, bite-sized chunks are easier to consume. It's important to stay informed, but it doesn't help to have upsetting images and details playing on a loop in your head.

Once you've gathered all of the necessary information, step back. Begin to notice what causes you to feel anxious or heavy. What are your triggers? Which times of day are the most difficult? Also, watch what leads you out of these states and into tranquility: Is there a sound? A special interaction with a friend.

By noting how you're feeling and why, you might gain a better understanding of what to avoid and how to calm yourself.

      Dance (or Shake) it off.

One of my favorite self-care activities is to put on my favorite dance music and shake it out. Literally imagine that you are shaking whatever is no longer serving you out of your system.

Animals in the wild often “shake off" traumatic experiences. And, while it is not a cure-all for people, it can aid in the processing of some negative emotions.

      Do an aura sweep.

Begin by either standing or sitting in a comfortable position. Take a moment to ground yourself with your legs and feet, focusing on how the floor feels beneath you. Inhale as you raise your arms up, palms facing overhead, and exhale as you sweep your hands back down. Continue to move and breathe, increasing speed as you become more comfortable.

Feel the inhale strengthen your system as you sweep up, and the exhale release and clear as you sweep down. End with an exhalation, hands alongside your thighs, and then take a moment to breathe.

      Meditate a little.

If you've been meaning to start a meditation practice, now is your chance. Sitting motionless amidst the bustle of the world can help you digest the aforementioned feelings and find some peace. Meditation gives you the space and awareness to act rather than react.

If you're feeling cooped up at home or in the office, you can always involve your family, roommates or co-workers in your mindfulness practice. Meditating together, even for just a few minutes, is a great way to create energetic space when everyone feels like they don’t have enough physical space.

      Burn Clarifying Scents

Borrow a ritual from wise, indigenous cultures and use scent as a way to clarify your mind and space. Burning incense has traditionally been used to diffuse divine aromas around the home and cleanse negative energies.

To reap the advantages of fragrant smoke, smudge herbs or wood sticks like sage and Palo Santo. In recent studies, smudging sage has been shown to produce negative ions into the air, which can help reduce bacteria levels. White sage leaves have traditionally been burned in numerous ceremonial rituals across indigenous cultures to cleanse negative energy and attract positivity into the space.

A story on FB that may help those who need shelter

       Backstory:

My wife noticed a homeless person at a local library on several occasions living out of a suitcase. Concerned for his well-being, she contacted Halton Region's Street Outreach Team at outreach@halton.ca. Advising of her observations, they replied they would send out a team to connect with the individual. They further stated:
Through our Street Outreach Team, individuals can access shelter and housing services, including accessible accommodations, as well as other supportive services such as assistance in securing more permanent, affordable housing options. In some cases, individuals do not wish to access emergency shelter services. When this occurs, the Street Outreach Team checks in regularly and provides mental health supports, housing-related case management services and other necessary service connections. Staff encourage these individuals to access emergency shelter supports, which always remain available to them.
I was not aware we had such resources in this great city and I thought this was a worthwhile story to share with everyone. If you see someone you believe could benefit from this resource, please do not hesitate to reach out. Everyone can use some help, some more than others.

**this is copied off of a post found on FB here in Burlington.  Just thought I would share in case you know someone who needs this support

5 Day Mental Health Challenge-Karma Gaia

      5 Day Mental Health Challenge

With millions of Americans experiencing increased feelings of stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, self-care and mental health awareness are more important now than ever. With that said, knowing how to best take care of yourself isn’t always easy, especially when time, energy, and resources are lacking (or non-existent). So, instead of letting your mental health challenge you, we’re helping you challenge those emotions and take back control. How you ask? With a 5 Day Mental Wellness Challenge! Because who doesn’t love a challenge?

Day #1: Make a Nutrient-Dense Breakfast (In 5-Minutes or Less)

Starting the day with a nutritious breakfast could help improve your mental health. In fact, fueling your body with a healthy breakfast meal has been demonstrated to promote a healthier lifestyle!

So start your day with a mood-boosting breakfast! To save time and stress, prepare it the night before, such as overnight oats or chia seed pudding.

Day #2: Declutter One Drawer in Your House

Think about how you feel when your space is clean and orderly. Less stressed, perhaps? More in control? There's a reason you're feeling this way! According to study, a cluttered, chaotic atmosphere can result in a scattered and distracted mind, as well as emotions of anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem.

      Day #3: Do a (Five-Minute) Meditation

Even on the busiest of days, everyone has five minutes to spare! A five-minute  meditation can help you improve your mental health and reduce stress. Yes, a few minutes are all you need! According to studies, even five minutes of meditation can lower tension and anxiety while also improving self-esteem.

Day #4: Take Your Morning Coffee Outdoors

Exposure to sunshine early thing in the morning can help regulate your circadian cycle, improve your mood, and enhance your vitality. Make this the first thing you do before picking up your phone or glancing at your electronics! Take your coffee outside and enjoy it with a side of Vitamin D! As part of today's mental health challenge, set your alarm five minutes earlier and enjoy your first cup of coffee in the early sunshine. Sunlight has been demonstrated to enhance serotonin, also known as "the happy hormone."

Day #5: Unfollow Negative Social Media Accounts

What begins as a simple stroll through social media may quickly devolve into a black hole of comparison, self-judgment, and low self-esteem. At worst, the highlight reel on social media can trigger anxiety and sadness. Use this mental health challenge to unfollow any accounts that make you feel less than you deserve.

Bocce at the Italian Cultural Centre of Milton

Wow I really am thankful to the Italian Cultural Centre of Milton for having their bocce night Wednesdays!!

Tonight was my 4th time coming out to this event located off of Tremaine in Milton.

I always leave in such a better mood.

Literally the first time I came here with two other friends I was quite grumpy from the stressful day that I was having.

We didn't get to finish our game so the game ended in a tie

--ohhhh no not good for this competitive woman. LOL.

But in all seriousness I left feeling 100% better.

I forgot why I was grumpy.

We had Nigel added to our team and the phenomenal Tina stepped up to explain a few things and to talk to us about this wonderful site and location

The ambiance at the ICCM is one of a kind; very friendly people, lots of laughter and just overall a very very fun night out to relieve stress!

The food is soooo yummy and tasty.

      Pizza/salad/drink for $10 or Hamburger/Salad/Drink for $5 or Hot Dog/Salad/Drink for $5.

I have to say the salad is extremely fresh, colourful and very delicious-onsite community garden in the back.

….very thankful to meeting new people each time and building new connections!!

Tonight we played with a couple and a lady who was new to bocce! The husband was on my team and it was his 1st time! Last week we played against his wife and lost miserably. I believe they have been married 42 years or so!!! Absolutely beautiful and they were hilarious!! I want that one day

Plus winning tonight sure felt good lol-I'm a little competitive!

Tonight we won so that always helps :)

Below is an extra special event they will be having Thursday September 19th-please come out….

You wont regret it!!! Memories for a lifetime

The 6 steps to mastering “negative” emotions...-Karma Gaia

The truth is, there are no “negative” emotions because they all serve a purpose. Consider them as signals of action that provide insightful information and give us the ability to make a change. Yes, some emotions are tough, challenging us at our core. But growth requires that we recognize their signals.

To truly master your emotions, follow these 6 steps of emotional mastery:

      Step 1: Identify the emotion

The first step is always to identify the negative emotion – or more accurately – the action signal. What kind of feeling is it? annoyance? Sadness? Or are you just hungry? Which feeling do you actually feel? Finding the central feeling will enable you to understand its important lesson.

Step 2: Appreciate & clarify the message

As soon as the emotion has been recognized, give it your whole attention and explain what it is trying to tell you. It basically tells you that something needs to change. Is it necessary for you to modify your behavior, such as your communication style? Or maybe by shifting your perception (i.e., the meaning) of a situation? Use the table in the next section to help clarify both the emotion and its powerful message.

      Step 3: Get CURIOUS

Get curious about how you want to feel by asking these four questions:

How do you want to feel?

What would you need to believe to feel that way right now?

What are you willing to do to feel that way now?

What’s great about this situation or what can you learn from it?

Understanding the cause of an issue will help you keep it from happening in the future and realize that every issue is a gift.

Step 4: Get CONFIDENT from past success

Consider a specific instance where you handled a comparable feeling well. How did you overcome it? Feel the confidence pour over you as you relive that moment as a comeback story. Recalling times when you were able to master your emotions gives powerful reassurance that you’ll navigate through this emotion once more.

Step 5: Get CERTAIN about mastering the emotion

By envisioning multiple solutions that assist you in experiencing the desired sensation, you can fortify your mental image of how you will manage this challenging feeling. If one doesn’t work, try another. Rehearse until you feel certain you can deal with the emotion.

Step 6: Feel excited and take ACTION

Take immediate action to demonstrate your ability to control your emotions. In order to modify your feelings and reinforce your practice, it is important to express your emotions in a healthy way.

Remember, you always have a choice when it comes to mastering your emotions and it all begins with the steps you take now.

      Heart Rock Sanctuary-in Oakville

I just wanted to share the incredibly amazing experience I had last Monday at the Heart Rock Sanctuary located off of Lakeshore in Oakville-an event run by the phenomenal, very energetic, and extremely positive Claudia thanks to the Women's Centre of Halton.

I was able to be part of a Sound Bath for the 1st time about a year ago-again thanks to the Women's Centre of Halton as a Valentine's Day event held in Milton.

This was such a magical day.

I am so happy they were able to find Claudia at the Heart Rock Sanctuary to be able to share this experience with us again.

It is quite the experience to make time for yourself (self care and self love) to escape for an hour; listening to the mesmerizing sounds made by the variety of instruments you see in these pics.

Claudia comes around to each one of us individually as well throughout this hour.

For me my favourite sound comes from the rain stick-Claudia had a rain drum if I am explaining that correctly.

It is to me just the coolest sound to hear.

It was a huge benefit to have this event as I left feeling calm and at peace; super relaxed which are things that are challenging for me to feel.

It was very peaceful here as you can see in these pictures I took.
Claudia was exceptional, full of such positive and happy energy.

She is one of a kind and clearly very passionate about what she does.

I look forward to our next Sound Bath event with Claudia at the Heart Rock Sanctuary!!

If you get the chance to attend one of her events I highly recommend it.

      You will not be disappointed!
